Varied weather as both high and low pressure maintain mixed weather conditions
Monday Through into Monday and mainly dry weather is expected across France and down towards Iberia, but with perhaps some patchy rain and drizzle developing across some western areas of France later in the day. Low pressure remains slow moving through central areas of the Med bringing a widespread risk of rain, showers, perhaps thunderstorms across Italy and with further snow for the Alps. Relatively mild, if not quite warm weather is expected across Greece and surrounding countries but with some scattered showers, while cold or very cold weather is maintained across much of Scandinavia and down towards eastern areas of Europe with snow flurries possible.
Tuesday Through into Tuesday and low pressure remains slow moving through much of the Med bringing a particularly disturbed period of weather here with heavy rain, downpours, local thunder and along with some significant snowfall for the Alps. Parts of Italy in particular look set to see some significant rainfall totals, while heavy showers and thunderstorms extend eastwards towards Greece and surrounding areas. High pressure is more influential across northern areas of Europe, but with some flurries across Poland and up towards Finland and Sweden where very cold weather will develop through the day with some particularly extreme minimum temperatures likely on Tuesday night.
