Unsettled central and western Europe, still cold in the east


Tuesday
On Tuesday and a large area of low pressure dominates across much of Europe, with a number of weather fronts bringing rain and showers at times. Some showery weather is forecast across France, perhaps with longer spells of rain across western areas of France later in the day, while showery weather dominates across Spain and Portugal where a chilly NW'ly wind is possible as well.
Weather fronts will be moving eastwards through the Med during the day bringing rain and showers to Italy in particular, while some fine and relatively warm weather dominates across Cyprus, Greece and surrounding countries. Low pressure brings a mixture of sunshine and showers to central areas of Europe, including Germany where it will be milder after the recently bitterly cold conditions, but with winter weather lingering across Sweden and Finland in particular.


Wednesday
Rain in southwest Portugal and southern Spain on Wednesday. Fair for eastern Spain and the Balearics, warm here too. Snow for the far north of Italy, but rain through central and southern areas. A fine day for Greece with lots of sunshine. More sunshine to come over Turkey nd dry here too.
A band of showery rain passing east through France, turning brighter to the west later. Heavy showers in the Low Countries in the afternoon with further heavy showers over Germany and Poland. Showers in Hungary with some rain or showers for Switzerland and Austria.
Rain in Denmark whilst the Baltic States will have some sunny spells and should be dry. The Baltic States remain cold with sunny spells and it stays cold for Finland too. Cold again in Sweden with some sunny spells, showers and rain affecting western Norway.
