Stormy northern Europe into Wednesday


Tuesday
Southern Spain and Portugal stay dry and warm, whilst areas toward Biscay will be windy with some rain. Fronts moves into France from the Atlantic, giving another spell of rain. The Low Countries stay dry most of the day, before rain arrives later. Low pressure over southern Italy brings rain, which also affects the southern Balkans and parts of Greece. Patchy snow for the Alps.
Quite cloudy for Germany and Poland, with a little rain, and temperatures near average. Some rain too for Hungary, Romania and western Ukraine. Slack low pressure over Scandinavia results in local areas of snow and rain for Finland, whilst areas around the Baltic should stay dry. Snow showers for northern Norway, but drier toward the south.


Wednesday
Another area of low pressure sweeps east across northern Europe, bringing severe gales to North Sea coasts and parts of Germany. A spell of heavy rain advances east into Poland and the Czech Republic. Southern Scandinavia also sees rain arrive, whilst snow is likely for central Sweden. The far north stays dry and cold.
Another fall of snow for the Alps as fronts extend into central Europe. Showery for the Low Countries and France, also northern Spain. Dry and warm for southern Spain and Portugal. Dry but breezy for the western Mediterranean. Low pressure over Greece brings areas of thundery rain, which also affects Turkey and Cyprus. Mainly fair across the Balkans, Romania and Ukraine.
