Friday
A hot day across southern Spain and Portugal, reaching 40C. Around 32C for the eastern Costas. Fair weather extends across the Mediterranean, with temperatures into the mid to high 30s Celsius for Italy. Similar high temperatures and dry weather for the Balkan countries, Hungary and much of eastern Europe. Greece is less hot, although around 30C inland. A northerly breeze for the Aegean Sea.
A cold front passes east across central Europe, bringing heavy rain and possible thunderstorms to northern France and Germany, tending to drift south into the western Alps later in the afternoon. A fresh westerly breeze follows the front, with showers for the Low Countries. Some rain extends to northern Poland and the Baltic states. Showers for southern Scandinavia, also Finland, but much of northern Norway and Sweden stays dry.

Thundery rain spreads into southern Sweden overnight, and a zone of rain also extends across Poland, the Czech Republic and the Alps. During the daytime, areas of thunderstorms are likely to break out widely across Poland and the Baltic states. Ahead of the storms, it will be very warm and humid across eastern Europe, topping 30C, whereas behind this frontal zone, it will be nearer 20C for Germany. A showery day with a brisk breeze for the Low Countries and southern Scandinavia. Heavy rain spreads north across Sweden, whilst further pulses of rain spread into south-west Norway. A fair day across central & southern France, with a Mistral wind. Topping 40C in southern Spain and Portugal. Lots of sunshine across the Mediterranean & south-eastern Europe.
