Fair central areas

Thundery Spain & Portugal, warm and dry central Europe

Thursday
Into Thursday and high pressure will slowly become more dominant, especially across the British Isles, down into France and much of Iberia. It will, however, be quite cool across more western and north-western areas of Europe but this offset somewhat by the 'strong' May sunshine.
Low pressure will remain slow moving across more eastern areas of Germany and into Poland, this bringing rain, showers and perhaps some thunderstorms, while the same low pressure brings unsettled conditions to southern areas of Norway, Sweden and Finland.
Much of the Mediterranean will be more settled than previous days, but with temperatures continuing to rise, given the time of year, then afternoon downpours or thunderstorms across inland areas remain possible, these most likely across parts of Italy and eastwards towards Slovakia, Greece and Turkey

Friday
Showers affecting Spain and Portugal today, some of them heavy and thundery. Most of the showers in the north and west of Iberia. Drier and sunnier weather for Corsica and Sardinia as well as much of Italy. Greece and Turkey should be dry with plenty of sunshine too.
France will be mostly dry with good spells of sunshine, although breezy in the northwest. A few thunderstorms could occur in the southwest. Breezy but fine in the Low Countries and Germany as well as much of Poland. Austria and Hungary together with Switzerland are going to be dry, again with some decent spells of sunshine to come here.
Denmark will be dry with lots of sunshine and it should be fair in much of Sweden too. A few showers in the Baltic States with rain affecting Finland. Norway should be mostly dry with plenty of sunshine, although there will be some rain in the north.
