Fair and sunny northern Europe, thundery rain in central areas and Iberia


Friday
Showers affecting Spain and Portugal today, some of them heavy and thundery. Most of the showers in the north and west of Iberia. Drier and sunnier weather for Corsica and Sardinia as well as much of Italy. Greece and Turkey should be dry with plenty of sunshine too.
France will be mostly dry with good spells of sunshine, although breezy in the northwest. A few thunderstorms could occur in the southwest. Breezy but fine in the Low Countries and Germany as well as much of Poland. Austria and Hungary together with Switzerland are going to be dry, again with some decent spells of sunshine to come here.
Denmark will be dry with lots of sunshine and it should be fair in much of Sweden too. A few showers in the Baltic States with rain affecting Finland. Norway should be mostly dry with plenty of sunshine, although there will be some rain in the north.


Saturday
Heavy and thundery showers affecting Spain and Portugal again on Saturday. The heavy showers could trouble the Balearics too. Italy will have sunny spells, although a few heavy showers are possible. Scattered showers in northern Greece and central Turkey, although fine and warm on coasts.
Some thundery showers in the far south of France. Most of the country should be dry with sunny spells. Scattered showers in the Low Countries and northern Germany although mostly fair. Poland should be dry with plenty of sunshine. Heavy showers and longer spells of thundery rain extending through Austria, Hungary and Switzerland.
Plenty of sunshine to come in Denmark and across the Baltic States. Finland should be fair too with more sunshine here. Bits of cloud affecting the Norwegian coasts, but overall dry with sunny spells.
